This is for the serious actor! Forget the cameras and the TV scripts - this class focuses on the fundamentals of acting as a craft. Students learn various methodologies of acting that have shaped the more prominent actors of our time! Methods taught include Meisner, Adler, Hagen, Stanislovsky, as well as Practical Aesthetics developed by David Mamet and William H. Macy. Learning these different methods allows the students to experiment with what works for them; after all, there isn't one cookie cutter way to approach a character! Students will read scenes from produced theatrical works. Students will also be asked to do reading assignments between classes. Ms. Lazell has studied them all, whether it had been at the conservatories based in Los Angeles or her time spent at the Atlantic Theatre Company while attending New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
NO CLASS DECEMBER 25 & 31!
